Why is there a chapter on this webpage dedicated to fatty tissue or fibro-fatty tissue?
The study of fibro-fatty tissue and fascial layers holds great importance in unraveling the enigma surrounding back mice. Despite its significance, our knowledge of the microscopic and macroscopic structures of fatty tissue remains surprisingly limited. Sir William Copeman insightfully noted in 1954 that fibrositis had been overlooked due to its lack of glamour, and it’s noteworthy that back mice were initially termed fibrositic nodules during the 1950s.
To truly understand the nature of these nodules, it is crucial to delve into the intricate structure of fibro-fatty tissue and its relationship with the body’s fascial layers. By shedding light on this neglected aspect, we can make significant progress in comprehending the essence of back mice.
NOTE: In 2023, we began conducting human cadaveric dissections with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the ‘back mice phenomenon.’ These observations can be summarized on our YouTube Channel, which has led us to preliminary conclusions that may provide new insights into the ‘back mice conundrum.’ → LINK to the YouTube videos related to the findings from our cadaveric human dissections.
